FAQs

Where will I be staying during the wedding weekend?

We’ve partnered with Castello di Ristonchi to offer our guests a special flat rate for lodging during your stay. The cost for a three-night stay is $350 per person and will include all of your meals as well as a selection of free alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The castle grounds feature 30 apartments, ranging from studios to two-bedroom units, each with a private bathroom and kitchen. Some tower apartments have stairs but offer breathtaking views. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you need any special accommodations - we want to ensure everyone has a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Keep in mind, the castle charm comes from it’s rich history. Expect your stay to be rustic-chic. The floors are worn and the bathrooms are small and quirky (it happens when a building is built 800 years before plumbing was common). Keep your eye out because some of the stones in the walls have medieval markings engraved in them. The castle is surrounded by an ancient forest - the castle lives in harmony with nature and doesn’t use harmful chemicals - so there may be a bug, a bee, or a spiderweb around. There is heating, but no air conditioning. Temperatures in early October range from 59 F to 78 F.

How do we get to Castello di Ristonchi?

Castello di Ristonchi is about a 45 minute drive from Florence center. We will provide a complimentary shuttle to the castello on Friday and back to the city on Monday (details below). You may also choose to rent a car and drive or take a taxi to the venue. The castle's parking lot has space for approximately 20 cars, so please let us know in advance if you plan to park on-site.

Shuttle details: the shuttle to the castello will leave from Santa Maria Novella Station in Florence city center at 3:00 PM local time on Friday. We kindly ask that you plan to arrive in Florence with plenty of time to ensure a smooth journey to the venue. Guests are welcome at the castle starting at 4:00 PM.

Return transportation has been coordinated on Monday October 6th, and will be departing the castle heading to Santa Maria Novella Station at 11:00 AM. Please include in your RSVP how you will plan to arrive & depart as we will need to coordinate the shuttle seats and parking spots.

When do we need to RSVP and pay by?

The final date to RSVP and reserve your room in the castle will be May 1st, 2025. Once you’ve RSVP’d on this website, you will be able to put your deposit down through Venmo (@matt-Latimer). The cost for a three-night stay is $350 per person, which covers your accommodations.

Throughout the weekend, Lizzie and Matt will be hosting special activities, and all meals and beverages will be provided for our guests. Please let us know about any dietary restrictions when RSVPing, and we’ll ensure there are options for everyone! That being said, if you have a specific craving over the weekend for a speciality drink, beer, or additional bottles (or cases) of wine - these items are available for purchase and will be charged to your room.

Is there a gift registry?

We understand that destination weddings come with significant costs, and your presence in Italy to celebrate with us is the greatest gift we could ask for! However, if you feel so inclined to send a gift or contribute to our honeymoon fund, you can find our registry here. Please know that we truly don’t expect anything—your love and support mean the world to us!

What do I need to bring & is there a dress code?

Please pack accordingly for the weekend’s activities listed on the Events page! The ceremony will be held outdoors on grass, so consider this when selecting your footwear. Ristonchi’s tap water comes from a fresh spring, so we encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle to help reduce plastic waste during our stay. Each room will be stocked with bed linens, one towel per guest, hand soap, and shampoo packets. We recommend bringing any additional toiletries you may need. A more detailed packing list will be shared after you RSVP!

We'd love to see our friends and family get dressed up for our big weekend! We're bringing the magic of Tuscany to life with a Dolce Vita cocktail dress code—effortless, elegant, and full of Italian charm. We want you to feel like you’ve stepped into a Fellini film, looking fabulously chic, yet comfortable in the Tuscan countryside. The ceremony, apertivo, and reception will be held outside. Whereas the after party will be indoors in an underground wine cellar.

For our ladies:

For our Dolce Vita cocktail attire, think elegant and effortless, with flowing midi or maxi dresses, chic cocktail dresses, or sophisticated jumpsuits in fabrics like silk, chiffon, or linen. I encourage your to choose colors that feel timeless, from floral prints to rich jewel tones or neutrals. Keep in mind, since we’ll be on grass, stilettos might sink faster than a biscotti in an espresso martini—opt for block heels, wedges, or stylish flats instead. Complete the look with bold earrings, a sleek clutch, and a light shawl for the evening breeze.

For our fellas:

Channel your Italian sprezzatura—that effortlessly cool, slightly undone, but undeniably stylish look. A linen or lightweight suit, dress pants with a blazer, and a crisp button-down are perfect. No ties, please but sneakers are okay. We want you looking like you just stepped out of a rustic Tuscan villa. Finish the look with loafers or dress shoes.
